Weekly What’s Going Well:
Happy Friday Grinnell-Newburg Families! Sunday we will celebrate commencement with the Class of 2024! Come out to the High School gym at 2pm to honor the accomplishments of this great group of students! Next week we’ll have school Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and an early out for the last day of school on Friday! Take a listen to this week’s video featuring Brooke Holder from Public Health previewing a great event to get families ready for school in the fall.

Congratulations Matt Lageveen Character Award Winners
The Matt Lageveen Character Award was established in 2006 after Matt’s unexpected death in 2005. He was consistently doing the right thing and displayed exceptional character. We carry on his memory by presenting current students with an award in his honor. The most recent winners are Alyssa Peterson, Norah Nicol, Sophia Louden, and Rylee Belcher pictured below as well as with all past recipients.
Above and Beyond
Special recognition at the board meeting this week for student and paraprofessional Kylie Krumm. Thanks for all you do to support the learning in our elementary schools.
Middle School Hosts Career Fair
Several local businesses came out and shared about their careers with our 7th and 8th grade students yesterday. This allows exposure to a wide variety of post graduation opportunities for students to consider as they look toward their future.

Registration Now Open
Please take a moment to register your student(s) for the 2024-2025 school year. Information can be found on the ‘Registering My Student’ tab at the top of the district website or by clicking the links below. All students need to register and update their information each year. Contact Katie Osborn, District Registrar, with any questions at 641-236-2677 or katie.osborn@grinnell-k12.org. Registration fees will be available for payment after July 1st.
