Dear Grinnell-Newburg Board of Education, Staff, Families, and Friends:
Happy Friday! Happy Last Day Of School! This year will be one for the storybooks in the years to come. I appreciate teachers, custodians, Para staff, support staff, cooks, bus drivers, nurses, administrative assistants, administrators, and our community's effort to be flexible, embrace change quickly and swiftly, and advocate to ensure that our students' needs were met every day. I would like to also send a shout-out to our families for their continued support and understanding during this past school year. Thank you to our students for your cooperation and understanding as we had to navigate a difficult year. I hope that everyone enjoys time with their families and friends this summer. You all deserve a nice break!

Summer Enrichment opportunities:
There is still time to sign up for enrichment classes for this summer.
Summer School Enrichment Catalog
Take a look at some of the opportunities for all students this summer at various locations throughout the district! Sign Up Here! The programs are free to all Grinnell-Newburg Students.
FREE Summer Meals information: Any child 1-18 can participate
Davis:
Dates: June 7th to August 6th (Monday through Friday)
Breakfast: 7:30 am to 8:15 am
Lunch: 11:00 am to 12:30 pm
**Option to take to-go or eat in the cafeteria**
OR
Pick-up at the High School (weekly sign-up required)
A Google sign-up form will be sent out. If a child is eating from the Davis location they can't pick up meals at the high school for that same day.
** Pick-up days are Mondays and Wednesdays. Mondays will get (two breakfast meals and two lunch meals). Wednesdays will get (three breakfast meals and three lunch meals).
Dates: Wednesday, June 9th to Wednesday, July 28th
Pick up time: 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Summer hours:
The district will begin summer hours on Monday, June 7, 2021. Families who need assistance at a school building (school buildings open through the middle of June, closed in July) or District Office will be Monday-Thursday 8:00 am-3:30 PM and Friday 8:00 Am-12:00 PM.

Just a reminder to please be sure to register for next school year.
It's that time of year again to register your student(s) for the next school year!
Log into your parent portal to register.
If you have questions about your parent portal please contact Katie Osborn at katie.osborn@grinnell-k12.org or 236-2676.
Our registrar Katie Osborn will be available this summer every Monday and Wednesday beginning the week of June 14th. If you have any questions about registering your student please feel free to call or email her.

Congratulations to our Retirees: Janet Ahrens, Roger Henderson, Karen Robbins, Marsha Schultz, Sherry Baker, Kathy Peterson, Abby Allen, and in-memory Ed Fenner. We wish you the best as you journey on to new and exciting things. Thank you for your service and we wish you well.
Also, we would like to wish all of those staff members who have chosen to journey to new adventures and new places in the upcoming year. We will miss you and appreciate your service to our students and families.
