Dear Grinnell Newburg Board of Education, Staff, Families, and Friends:

Happy Friday! This weekly update is filled with BACK TO SCHOOL items! Please find registration information, free and reduced lunch information, school supplies, Open House and orientation, and more!  Here is the school 22-23 Calendar FINAL.pdf too.  Keep this information handy as you begin to plan for back to school!

I would like to thank all of our SLICK staff and AmeriCorp Vista members and partners for a spectacular summer program! I hope that you all enjoy a much-needed break before we head back to school!

Tiger Express Newsletter 2022-2023  You will find information regarding the 2022-23 school year in this publication.  It is a wonderful resource for your reference throughout the school year.   We will have an updated version of additional new staff in the weeks ahead.

Online Registration for the 2022-2023 school year!

All of our students need to be officially registered on Infinite Campus, our student information system; click HERE to begin the online registration process. You will want to select new student if you have never attended our district. Make sure to select the 22-23 school year. Once you complete the registration, please reach out to me for your activation code for your parent portal account setup if you do not have one.

If you have a current parent portal account, you can log in and register through your portal account. To access your parent portal, click here. Please note that your Preschool and/or Kindergarten student(s) may not show up in the student section. If you have them listed in the "nonenrolled section," there is a box you can mark to register this student. If you have other children in the district, please update their information for the 22-23 school year as well. We need every student to have their information updated and online registration completed.

Registration Night at the High School

If you need assistance with the registration process, feel free to come to Grinnell High School on August 8th from 4-6 PM. We will be assisting families with the registration process and will be able to answer your questions. We will have computers available to register your student.

Lunch Program

This is the information that the Department of Education shared with us:  Meals are not going to be “FREE” to all students in SY2022-23. For SY 2022-23, the USDA is transitioning back to the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) and School Breakfast Program (SBP). Students that are eligible and approved for free or reduced-price meals will continue to receive meals at no charge (free) or at a reduced meal price (30 cents for breakfast and 40 cents for lunch).  These forms will be available online through the infinite campus parent portal.  Please complete these forms beginning next week.   We will have them updated on our website too.   We encourage everyone to complete them online.    If you need assistance with these forms, please contact our Director of Foods services, Kim Sieck, at kim.sieck@grinnell-k12.org  For more information, visit the Nutrition website.
